As a cyclist, you are often on the road by car. For example; on the way to a tour, a central starting location or to your friends. Afterwards, changing clothes on location is often not possible. While you would like to put on dry clothes. With this motivation, we went looking for a practical solution.
To further develop the idea, we brought together a group of creative and resourceful people. We quickly agreed that the production process had to meet three core values: functional, quality and sustainable. Wad van Waarde embraced the idea and intensively supervised the project 'from plan(t) to poncho'. From raw material (flax) to end product (linen). Together we ensured that the production process takes place locally. With thanks to Wad van Waarde and VanHully.
A sustainable changing poncho has been in the works for over two years. All aspects of the development process have been completed: design, production, raw materials, design and naming. The highlight? The launch of the Flaaks Duponcho during the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven (2024).
Together We Design the Future!
Flaaks owes its name to the Frisian name for the word flax. Flaaks strives for functional products, sustainable alternatives and circular (value) chains. The DuPoncho is the very first product developed by Flaaks. It was a project of several years that we look back on with pride. This initiative shows that a circular collaboration is possible. The goal is to inspire the world to make different choices. Flaaks brings the value of local chains and pure craftsmanship to life.
